"People Choice" winner of Southern Startup Hack - Startup Thailand 2016

Other award・Sep 2016

The National Innovation Agency (NIA), Ministry of Science and Technology, together with the Thai Tech Startup Association, organized the Startup Hack (Southern Region) competition from September 16th – 18th, 2016, at Duangjitt Resort & Spa, Phuket. It was a Hackathon event where participants teamed up to create new business models and develop MVP (Minimum Viable Product) within 54 hours, then pitched their ideas to board of judges for awards.[1]
The Pupasoft Research Lab, led by Asst. Prof. Suthon Sae-Wong from the Department of Computer Engineering, Prince of Songkla University, encouraged students to participate in innovative and up-to-date activities like this Hackathon. I also joined the event with fellow lab members who shared interests in startups and entrepreneurship in that time.

Participants in that event were a mix of Developers, Designers, and Marketers, collaborating to pitch and build a business model within 54 hours. During the event, mentors from both the public and private sectors offered valuable guidance and hands-on workshops. The final pitching round was also live-streamed and can be watched in the video below.
After an intense 54-hour Hackathon, our team received the People’s Choice Award for our project “Market Price”, A marketplace platform designed to connect hotels with suppliers, offering a safer and more convenient way to manage the deals.

Earlier that year, I had also co-founded a Health Tech Startup with my team called Ucare, A mobile platform application, Designed to help people in Thailand easily check their health symptoms and their risk on their own. After entering their symptoms, the app would evaluate the severity level and recommend whether to see a doctor immediately or consult a pharmacist for basic treatment.
We continued developing the idea, design, and business model, and pitched on multiple stages to seek funding. Our project, Ucare, won a 3rd runner-up award and gained 6,000 baht for seed funding from the ICT Innovations for eHealth & mHealth contest, organized by the Ministry of Public Health, held on August 23rd, 2016, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
